Channeling Whittlin Jim

This is a quest to make all the slides featured in the Whittlin Jim's "Slide of the Month" in Boy's Life magazine. (Hopefully without doing lasting damage to my hands or fingers.) Blogging my progress along the way. I completed my task in March of 2017 and now post my own designs along with some other "Slide of the Month" contributors.

Slide of the Month: Shell cutaway

While on vacation I happened to see this shell in a souvenir show and it reminded me of a Christmas ornament. Drilled a couple of holes in the back and glued a wire loop in the back

Bill: Years ago, when I was a Boy Scout, I would wait impatiently for the next issue of Boy's Life just so I could see the Whittlin' Jim "Slide of the Month" feature. But try as I might I could never make one of those slides. (I have the scars to prove it!) ....Flash forward 40 years and I discover a couple of links to the original Whittlin' Jim patterns. Well I carved one and got hooked and so began this journey...
