This is a quest to make all the slides featured in the Whittlin Jim's "Slide of the Month" in Boy's Life magazine. (Hopefully without doing lasting damage to my hands or fingers.) Blogging my progress along the way. I completed my task in March of 2017 and now post my own designs along with some other "Slide of the Month" contributors.

Surfboard
The last time I saw a surfboard like this one was back in the 60's on some TV show (maybe The Monkees). I doubt you would find one like this long board anywhere on the waves anymore. Carved from pine the board is a quick carve. The hardest part is carving the fin which has to be custom fitted to the curve of the board before attaching it to the board. The painting scheme is based on the original pattern from the pattern and is done with craft paints.Finished off with a couple of coats of polly. Maybe I will revisit this one sometime in the future and update it to a more current design.
