Fungus

Picked up some time at Chesterfield Scout Reservation July 2010

Left to dry out and finally carved in the fall of 2016

Time to carve: 1.5 hours

Finishing: 2 hours

I had some time to think about these and I really was unsure have how I wanted to finish these looking at the original Whittlin Jim column. In the end, I decided to dedicate them to Chesterfield Scout Reservation and the Centennial year of Scouting (also the last year of Chesterfield  was summer camp).

Both came from a downed birch tree near Capico (ROPES, BLADES, FIRE) when I was looking for tinder fungus. Tinder fungus is a great fire starter for wilderness survival!
