This is a quest to make all the slides featured in the Whittlin Jim's "Slide of the Month" in Boy's Life magazine. (Hopefully without doing lasting damage to my hands or fingers.) Blogging my progress along the way. I completed my task in March of 2017 and now post my own designs along with some other "Slide of the Month" contributors.

Siesta
Sometime between 2012 and 2015
Time to carve: 1.5 hours
Finishing: 2 hour
Having just awoken from an afternoon nap, its funny that the next slide to talk about was the Siesta slide. Carved from maple and painted with craft paints, this was a quick slide to make.
While I always thought the siesta was begun in Mexico, I was surprised to find out its very popular in many areas. History of the siesta
